Biography

Luca Cauchi

Born on July 11, 1989, in Malta, Luca Cauchi holds a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design and Interactive Media (2013). Self‑taught in classical oil painting and drawing, his approach is deeply informed by studying masters such as Titian, Rembrandt, Sargent, and Zorn. His work centers on the human form—its expression, condition, and narrative potential—using the canvas as a visual diary to document personal life, spirituality, and the environment surrounding him.

In 2015, Luca joined the École d’art au village Association in collaboration with HSBC’s “Catch The Drop” campaign, contributing to a three-year community art project. Most recently, he completed his studies in Art Pedagogy (2025) and now teaches art at a state school. Outside the classroom, his studio practice remains central to his life—producing deeply personal works that reflect his artistic inquiries and philosophical interests.

He continues to accept private portrait commissions and regularly explores themes of life, memory, and the ephemeral nature of human experience through his paintings. Luca’s works can be found in numerous private collections across Malta and abroad, and he remains committed to pushing the boundaries of figurative art through quiet observation and painterly sensitivity
